“Never thinking that worse cannot happen is perhaps the most invaluable lesson that I’ve learned; carpe diem.”

A bit about Jack

In the early hours of New Year’s Day 2010, Jack Martindale and four friends were walking home from a night out when a car collided with the group. One was pronounced dead at the scene. Jack and another were comatose, with the latter never gaining consciousness again.

Jack has written a book about his personal journey from the day of the accident to the present. The book is called Battling a Brain Injury: the life that Jack Built and has itself been imperative to his recovery.

Having been released on October 31st, Jack is hoping his book will provide insight to others and help de-stigmatise brain injuries for the future.
